DEAR FOLKS ,LET me tell you the story behind the song HE DIED FOR LOVE,
DEDICATED TO THE MEN AND WOMEN OF THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES.
ON a bright sunny september morning i was given the grim news that my brother in law had been killed.The war in
Afghanistan had touched our home in the most profound way.As my brother in law was killed along with 3 of his army brothers while on patrol.Their vechile had been struck by a roadside bomb.It was his love for CANADA and his family
to release the song called HE DIED FOR LOVE.
In the years i knew him,it was clear that he was very passionate about his career in the CANADIAN MILITARY.
During his career ,he had done many tours of duty around the world.There were three other soliders killed alongside
that sept 3 morning.I can,t help but wonder how the soldier,s families lives changed when they got the news that one of their loved ones were gone forever.
HE DIED FOR LOVE , was written by BRIAN AND LARRY TILANDER.BRIAN,S family has a long history of military service and the song was his way of honouring the memory of those who made the ultimate sacriface.Brians
father was stationed at the CANADIAN FORCES BASE IN SUMMERSIDE PEI,in the late 60's untill he was
transford in 1973.As i was born and raised in SUMMERSIDE PEI i felt an immediate connection to both the song
and what it ment for our family.
I belive HE DIED FOR LOVE is just too powerfull of a song to sinply leave on the shelf.The words contain a
great message that needs to be heard around the world.Our soldiers are dying to keep the peace both in canada and abroad.Each soldier,s death is a stark reminder of just how precious our freedom is and how we must recognize the efforts of our dedicated soldiers who have fought so hard to make CANADA the country it is.
As i perform this great song in memory of each soldier who gave their life for us and to all their families ,friends
who are left behind.As i hope this song will touch your heart as it has touched mine.
